Experience
From Lehigh Valley sidelines to Penn State broadcasts.
Joseph Draper started covering sports in 2019, filming and calling high school games in the Lehigh Valley. Over the next seven years he moved into college play-by-play, conference championships, studio production and a national broadcast, working on both sides of the camera along the way.
After The Whistle PSU
Journalist
With After The Whistle PSU, Joseph sharpened the reporting and production side of his work. He covered high school sports, working with fellow students to film the games and collect stats, conducted post-game interviews with athletes and coaches, and wrote scripts and edited voice-over packages in Adobe Premiere Pro, cutting each one into a concise 40-second segment for live broadcast.
Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC)
Sportscaster
For the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference, Joseph called championship games across multiple sports, on both play-by-play and color commentary. He co-hosted a weekly podcast on the conference’s teams and standout athletes, set up media availability with athletes and coaches, and ran on-site social media at conference championship events.
Fox Sports
Runner
When Big Noon Kickoff came to Penn State, Joseph worked as a runner for Fox Sports, assisting producers with the production and gaining national production experience on site.
Penn State Lehigh Valley
Athletics Student Worker
At Penn State Lehigh Valley, Joseph served as the play-by-play voice for the men’s and women’s basketball teams on YouTube live broadcasts. He also ran pre- and post-game interviews and social media for the men’s soccer team, kept scores and stats current online, and helped the Director of Athletic Programming with game-day programs, a pep rally and other communications work.
D11Sports.com (District 11 Sports)
Student Intern
He started early. Before college, Joseph covered high school athletics in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley for D11Sports.com, where he filmed games, tracked stats, interviewed athletes and coaches, ran social media, and called games live on YouTube. He often handled all of it himself.
Beyond sports
His work reaches beyond sports. In February 2026, Joseph earned an international film credit for The Hail Mary, directed by Daniel Roebuck.
